What To Expect During Your First Visit With Us
For some of our new patients, the first visit to our office may be for a specific urgent concern. In these circumstances, we will address your urgent concerns first and make you comfortable.
If there is no emergency concern, the first visit will typically involve a comprehensive exam and diagnosis. Whether you are visiting because of an emergency or for a comprehensive exam, our team of caring and courteous professionals will take the time to get to know you and your dental concerns. Only by doing so can we help you achieve your goal of a healthy and beautiful smile that will last a lifetime.
Our initial visits are usually one hour and will typically include:
• A full mouth digital dental X-ray series
• An oral cancer screening
• A TMJ-occlusion examination
• A periodontal (the gums and bone around the teeth) examination
• An evaluation of your current oral condition
• Taking photos and models (if appropriate)
• A formulation of a comprehensive treatment plan (more complex treatment plans may require a second visit to discuss treatment options in more depth)
• A dental cleaning (if appropriate)
• Dental education
What To Bring to Your First Visit
When you visit our office, our priorities are your comfort and that you receive the best care possible. In order to help us make your first visit with us as comfortable and as smooth as possible, please bring any insurance information you may have. Also, in order to expedite the registration process, please download and carefully complete the following forms and bring them with you to your first visit:
Insurance Information
We make every effort to keep dental care affordable. It should be noted that dental insurance is designed to defray the costs of dental care by paying only a portion or percentage of the treatment. Through a complimentary insurance verification, we can obtain a breakdown of your plan benefits for you. At no additional cost, we will gladly explain how your plan works and how you can use that plan in our office. Only by doing so can we coordinate your dental insurance with treatment and help you maximize any insurance benefits you have.
Do You Accept My Dental Insurance?
A very important question! Almost all dental insurance plans are accepted in our office. Some of the most common dental insurance plans that we accept include Aetna, Cigna, Delta Dental, MetLife, and Guardian to name a very few.
No matter how big or small your insurance benefit is, you may be pleasantly surprised by the actual amount that your dental insurance will cover. As a service to you, we will gladly obtain a complimentary, no-obligation insurance breakdown of your dental insurance plan and explain how your plan works and how you can use that plan in our office. Only by doing so can we coordinate your dental insurance with treatment and help you maximize any insurance benefits that you have.
